Expectation of new energy source for fossil fuel has been increasing, based on recent growing conscious of environment. At present, lithium secondary batteries are widely used for portable devices and so on. Moreover, they are expected to be used for electric vehicles and power storage applications due to their high energy density and extremely low self-discharging. On the other hand, R & D for improvement is extensively carried out since high safety is required in these applications. ISK is aggressively promoting industrialization of lithium titanate as an anode material of lithium-ion battery focusing on its high safety and long life. Furthermore, ISK is pursuing superior performance and developing new materials for new power storage devices.
