ISK and FarmHannong Sign Global Joint Development Agreement for a Novel Herbicide
ISHIHARA SANGYO KAISHA, LTD. (ISK) and FarmHannong Co., Ltd. (FarmHannong) today announced that they have signed a global joint development agreement for a novel herbicide targeting global markets.
This initiative is part of ISK’s mid-term management plan, Vision 2030 Stage II. Through this collaboration with FarmHannong, the companies aim to leverage synergies with their existing product portfolios and establish the new herbicide as a next core product.
The herbicide is expected to deliver excellent efficacy at low application rates against a broad spectrum of weeds, including those that are difficult to control with existing products in the row-crop segment. These features are expected to help address global agricultural challenges while reducing environmental impact.
This agreement builds on the strong partnership between ISK and FarmHannong, established through the successful co-development and global commercialization of the herbicide Tiafenacil (Tergeo, Terrad’or). By securing registrations in key markets, both companies have demonstrated a proven ability to deliver innovative solutions to growers worldwide.
The collaboration features an innovative partnership model that maximizes the strengths of both companies, combining discovery and development capabilities with global regulatory and commercial expertise. A joint project team composed of experts from both companies will lead R&D, regulatory approvals, and commercialization in global markets, enabling the simultaneous realization of locally relevant solutions and global deployment.
