Participation in the Ministry of the Environment's "30by30 Alliance for Biodiversity"
Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, Ltd. (Head Office: Nishi-ku, Osaka City; President and Representative Director: Hiroshi Okubo; “ISK”) is pleased to announce that it has joined the “30by30 Alliance for Biodiversity” promoted by the Ministry of the Environment.
In recent years, biodiversity loss has been internationally recognized as a critical environmental issue alongside climate change. At COP15 (the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity) held in December 2022, the “Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF)” was adopted, setting the goal of “conserving at least 30% of land and sea by 2030 (30by30 target).” Furthermore, with the establishment of the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) framework, companies are increasingly required to consider natural capital and biodiversity.
In light of these developments, ISK, guided by its corporate purpose, “To continue contributing to better living environments through chemical technologies,” is promoting corporate activities aimed at coexistence with nature. In February 2026, ISK concluded an agreement regarding the “Corporate Forest Development” project promoted by Hyogo Prefecture, and from April of the same year, ISK will
commence forest conservation activities in Ono City under the name “ISK Forest.” Taking this participation in the “30by30 Alliance for Biodiversity” as an opportunity, ISK will further accelerate its biodiversity conservation efforts and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
About the 30by30 Alliance
This is a Ministry of the Environment-led network in which companies, local governments, organizations, and others participate to work on biodiversity conservation, aiming to achieve the international goal of “30by30 (Thirty by Thirty)” – effectively conserving at least 30% of land and sea as healthy ecosystems by 2030.
