MT-V3TM - Iron oxide-based VOCs decomposer -

Photo: Electron microscopic pictureElectron microscopic picture

MT-V3TM safely and readily decomposes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) of contaminated soil and water in pH neutral conditions, thereby reducing environmental contamination.

Strengths

  1. Strength 1
By-products of titanium dioxide (iron oxide) with high functionality added by our proprietary ultrafine particle technology
  2. Strength 2
pH neutrality and the ability to decompose VOCs safely and easily
  3. Strength 3
    No generation of harmful by-products
  4. Strength 4
Simultaneous solidification and purification can be performed when combined with a neutral solidifier.

Typical Applications

  • In-situ purification of VOC-contaminated soil
  • Purification of VOC-contaminated groundwater with permeable purification walls

Chief components

  • Iron oxide
  • Iron powder

Intended use

  • Decomposition of VOCs (Trichloroethylene etc.)
  • POPs including dioxin and residual agricultural chemicals can also be decomposed.

Decomposition test of Trichloroethylene

Graph: Decomposition test of Trichloroethylene
  • Trichloroethylene (TCE)
  • Initial concentration 10.0mg/L
  • MT-V3TM additive amount 25g/L - polluted water

The amount of chloride ions as decomposed material almost equals the theoretical amount, so no harmful by-products are generated through the decomposition process.

Free from rusty water

Photo: MT-V3 does not generate rusty water.MT-V3TM does not generate rusty water.

The iron ions leached from iron powder are immobilized on the surface of iron oxide particles in MT-V3TM, and it is free of concern about the generation of rusty water.

Decomposition performance of VOCs

Decomposition performance of VOCs Decomposition rate constant(hr-1)
Carbon tetrachloride 1.1×10-1
1,1-Dichloroethane 1.7×10-2
cis-1,2-Dichloroethane 2.7×10-2
Tetrachloroethylene 1.5×10-2
1,1,1-Trichloroethane 7.6×10-2
1,1,2-Trichloroethane 3.5×10-2
Trichloroethylene 2.3×10-2
